We've compiled a group of unique and
tasteful entertaining games for your bridal shower and are certain
that these activities will be as enjoyable as they are amusing.
We suggest you take your time and look through our list of games
that we have found, after quite a bit of research, to really work.
It may be tempting to use a variety of ones we have listed, but
keep in mind that the best showers are the ones that have a few
games but are unique enough to keep the entertainment of your
shower fresh in the guests' minds long after the big day has passed.
So relax, pick a few of your favorites and enjoy the last couple
months of planning this once in a lifetime event with the help
of weddingFAVORites.com.
Model Bride
Divide the guests (minus the bride)
into teams of four. Each team is given four rolls of white toilet
paper and given 15 minutes to design a wedding dress. Each team
chooses a "model bride" to design a dress for and wrap her in
a toilet paper gown within the time limit. Now comes time for
the real bride-to-be to choose which gown is the most beautiful.
That team is awarded a bridal shower gift. The gown looks great
in pictures!
On Her Wedding Night
As the bride opens her gifts, have one
of the bridesmaids write down her reactions. She might say stuff
like “I love it!” and “Where does this go?” After she’s opened
up all the gifts, the bridesmaid reads her reactions and says
that this is what the bride will be saying on her wedding night!
Don’t Forget You Can’t….Oops!
Each guest is given a safety pin to
clip on her clothes as she arrives. Assign two or three things
that are natural to do at a bridal shower that may not be done
at this one. Things such as crossing your legs, saying the grooms
name, mentioning the honeymoon destination. If one of the other
guests catches you doing them then she can have your clothespin.
The guest who collects the most clothespins wins. As the day progresses,
everyone gets into the game!
Bridal Bingo
Make your own Bridal Shower Bingo. Before
the day of the bridal shower, make blank grids to look like bingo
cards. As the guests arrive, have them fill out the grid with
gifts that they think the bride will receive (white candle, pink
slip, lotion, etc.). The free space is the one in the middle,
have the guests write in the item they brought as a gift. As the
bride opens her gifts, the guests cross it off their bingo card.
Whoever gets five in a row, across or diagonally first gets Bingo!
A Fight
Till The End
Wrap five bridal
shower gifts. Make one a gag gift (example: roll of toilet paper)
that you wrap most beautifully and the others (lotions, perfume,
etc.) should be wrapped with a little modesty. Now get two decks
of cards. One deck is passed out to all the guests. Have the guests
look at their hand of cards. Use the second card deck to call
out numbers (like in Bingo). Call out one card at a time as you
turn them over. Whoever has that card may go and pick a gift of
their choice. When all the gifts have been passed out continue
flipping over the cards. This time whoever has the card called
may take a gift from someone else. When all the cards from the
second deck have been called, the five people who have the last
five cards get to keep their gifts. In the end, everyone with
gifts opens them for all to see. The guest who thought they got
the best gift of all ends up with the gag gift plus it’s a great
laugh for those who were fighting to get the best one.
How well do you know her?
Give each guest a piece of paper and
a pen. Have a bunch of personal questions about the bride to ask
(her age, wedding color scheme, her mother's maiden name, her
fiance’s parents names, favorite TV show/movie, shoe size, etc.).
The guest that answers the most correct wins. A great conversation
starter. A variation to the game is to ask questions about the
couple. Where they met, first date, first kiss, time period of
engagement, etc.
OR
A bridesmaid can call the groom before
the shower and asks him all types of questions about the bride.
Questions like "Who was her first crush”, "What was the name of
her first pet", and "What high school did she attend?" During
the shower all the guests have a chance to answer the questions.
Whoever gets the most questions right wins.
Famous Wives
On small pieces of paper write the names
of famous wives such as Marge Simpson, Peg Bundy, Nicole Kidman,
etc. Each guest randomly draws a nametag to wear throughout the
shower. On the back of each nametag is a number. Towards the end
of the shower instruct the guests to turn over their nametags
and display the numbers instead. Each guest then tries to remember
who each person was. Great way to get people mingling!
Pass it on
Before the day of the shower, wrap a
gift intended for the bride-to-be several times. After each wrapping,
write a little note for example, "Pass this to the girl with the
longest hair." As gift is passed around, each person removes one
wrapping and passes it to the next person according to what the
next note says. The game begins and ends with the bride-to-be.
The last note should say something like, "Pass this to the person
most likely to get married in the next month.” Try to design your
notes according to your guest list to make sure everyone gets
a chance.
How Well Does “She” Know “Him”?
Entertain them while they eat cake.
The future sister-in-law (if there is one) sits in front with
the bride and tests how well she knows her groom-to-be. (His favorite
song, his middle name, his favorite restaurant, etc.) Before the
shower, the groom is asked the same questions. For each answer
she gets right, she receives a gift. For each she gets wrong,
she draws a name of a guest out of a bag and THEY get the prize!
Everyone enjoys the game in anticipation of winning a gift!
Dig in Your Purses
Divide the guests into teams of three.
Provide each team with a list of items to be found in their purses.
Assign each item a certain number of points. The most likely to
be found item such as compact is assigned 1 point and a less likely
item such as a toothbrush is assigned something like 20 points.
The team with the most points wins!
Memory Cards
Send each guest a 3x5 card in their
invitation. The guests are told to right a unique memory they
have with the bride without giving away their name. During the
shower the bride reads the cards aloud and has to guess who wrote
the memory. Everyone gets to know each other better and the bride
ends up with a stack of memories as a keepsake.
Confession
Give each guest 5 pieces of candy. Start
with the bride who must confess one thing she's never done for
example “I have never lied”. Any guest who HAS done what was confessed
must eat one piece of the candy they were given. Keep going until
every guest has had a chance to confess once or someone who has
done it all is out of candy. Two people win, one with the most
candy, and one with no candy!
Love Songs
Prior to the shower, create a tape of
about 10-15 clips from popular love songs. Play the tape for the
guests and have them try to guess the name of the song and the
artist/group that sings that particular song. The person with
the most correct wins!
