Husband Appreciation Day

April 15th marks a day when you can show a little extra care and appreciation for your husband. Why? Because it’s Husband Appreciation Day! If you didn’t know it was a national holiday, don’t stress. We came up with 5 last-minute ideas to celebrate your partner, giving you an excuse to spoil and treat him for the day:

1. “Reasons Why” Love Letters:

Grab some small notes, letters, or cards, and write an appreciation message in each of them. You can talk about qualities you admire in him, memories you share together, or things he does that you appreciate. It can be as simple as “Thank you for always being patient with me” or “I love how you make me laugh”. Get creative and just speak from your heart!

2. Prepare a Home-Cooked Meal:

A great way to surprise your hubby is to cook him a special dinner he will love. Use your favorite recipes or spice up a meal you often eat together to make it your own. This doesn’t have to be super fancy, just a more thoughtful and heartfelt meal. You can also choose to just have a night where you cook together. If he loves to cook or if you two do not usually spend time in the kitchen together, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. Between busy schedules and plans, this is an easy way for you two to bond, laugh, and spend more time together. Go the extra mile and gift our Custom Men’s Apron to your husband so he can utilize it whenever in the kitchen.

3. Try out His Interests:

Do an activity he loves or is passionate about together. Whether it’s a sport or a hobby like playing cards, he will feel so happy you are doing it with him. This shows you are willing to participate and immerse yourself into something he really enjoys. It’s also a great way to make some new memories.

4. Create an Appreciation Basket:

Stop at the store and pick up some of his favorite items or things he uses a lot. This can include his go-to snacks, a new blanket, a gift card to a restaurant he loves, a new book, etc. Not only will he feel so special, but it will show you to listen and pay attention to what he likes.

5. Spa Day:

A self-care day is necessary for everyone-including the guys! It’s a simple idea to try at home–you can do his skincare, put a facemask on him, give him a massage, etc. This is a great way for him to feel relaxed and de-stressed.

Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that make it more special. These ideas on how to show your appreciation for your husband are super easy, yet so meaningful. He will feel so loved and treasured after any of these gestures. Feel free to try any or all of these out on April 15th and beyond!

National Proposal Day!

Happy National Proposal Day! March 20th is a special day many couples not only celebrate their marriage and relationship, but also when some decide to pop the question! Everyone’s proposal story is unique in its own way, filled with hard-hitting emotions. Here at Wedding Favorites HQ we love all wedding stories, so we decided to ask our followers to share theirs! Here are two proposals that we thought were special! (Plus a special surprise at the end!👀)

Proposal #1

“I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii and my boyfriend and I finally got a chance to go for an anniversary and Valentine’s Day. We both work in a hospital so we haven’t gotten a vacation since Covid-19. And then we got there. The next day he said he hired a photographer just for “fun” so I could keep the memory. He planned with the photographer how he was going to propose. He’s been planning this for 2 years… It was so perfect! ❤️”

-Brittany Barron

Proposal #2

“My fiancé and I started dating in 2020 and two weeks later I lost my mom. My fiancé was and is an absolute rockstar of a support system. We’re quite the crazy cat ladies so I knew I wanted to incorporate them into my proposal. So I bought the cat’s bandanas that said “will you marry my mama?” Long story short, the bandanas never made it on the cats (they were camera shy) and I got down on one knee and shouted “surprise!” Instead of “will you marry me?” Nevertheless, she said yes!

Two weeks after, her mom died 💔 We’ve been loving and supporting each other through these heartbreaks. That following October, I came home from work to a fall festival with a pumpkin saying “will you marry me” and it was my turn for my ring! I told her I’d have to think about it 😉 Wedding is set for April 27, 2024! We’d love to be featured to spread light through our heartache 💍🤍👰👰 #twobridesarebetterthanone”

2023 Wedding Trends

A new year means new trends for future brides! After reviewing recent trends and considering timeless styles, we formulated a list of what we think brides will be doing more of this year! Here are our favorite 2023 wedding trends:

1. Terracotta Details

The copper, rust, and burnt orange tones aren’t going anywhere! There are many ways to incorporate this color into your wedding journey, whether it’s through flower arrangements or table decor. One of our favorite ways, however, is through the bridal party getting ready outfits! Items like our Ruffled Robe in Clay establish a warm and inviting ambiance all around. This color works throughout every season as its rich orange and earthy shades complement a vibrant summer or cozy fall celebration. Not to mention– terracotta elements will make any picture look lively regardless if it is taken outside against greenery or indoors against a wooden background.

2. Pearl Accessories

The infamous pearl veil & hairstyles went viral last year and we think they’ll be just as popular! Pearls are such a simple, yet effective way to elevate any bridal look. Brides can even add their own twist on unadorned items like our Sunglasses, Hats, and Veils by sticking any sized pearls over them. There’s a reason why brides have consistently been incorporating pearl details into their outfits–it will always look STUNNING!

3. Bridal Brunches

Brunches have always been trending, but use them to host your bridal showers & bridesmaid proposals for a fun twist!
👰 @idelysr 📸 @bustabadcollective 🥂 @thebohomiaexperience

Brunches have always been a hit and are great for bridesmaid proposals or bridal showers. This is the perfect opportunity for everyone to share a delicious meal with their besties while celebrating the bride-to-be. It is also a fun way to dress up and take memorable photos. Spruce up the brunch by including unique decor and favors like our Personalized Flutes or Fans. Personalized touches and a creative presentation can go a long way in making everything look put together.

4. Fringe Pieces

Incorporate fringe statement pieces in your bridal wardrobe!
👰 @morggss

Fringe is making a comeback! We think brides will start incorporating them into their bridal looks. Fringe detailing on an outfit can make a bold statement that screams bride! Whether your wedding theme is bohemian chic, modern, or rustic, fringe items like our Denim Jackets or Crochet Purses will fit it all. Fun, flirty, and festive–what’s not to love?!

5. Candid Photos

Natural-looking photos are in and more couples will want an editorial twist to their pictures. Don’t stress too much about how you plan to pose for your engagement or wedding photos– your authentic emotions will speak for themselves! Photographs of couples taking a walk, laughing, or doing an activity together are great ways to come up with candid pictures. Browse our more casual bridal wear that will easily complement a vision for relaxed and candid engagement photos. Recently, we’ve also noticed many prefer to have blurry or out-of-focus photographs. This further plays into this dreamy, impromptu look.

Put these ideas to use for your bridal journey in 2023! These growing trends will make your bridal outfits, photos, and wedding stand out while simultaneously fitting in beautifully! If you use any of our ideas or bridal accessories for your upcoming celebrations make sure to tag us @weddingfavorites!

5 Easy Engagement Photo Ideas

Congrats on your engagement! Now what…? Engagement photos, of course! Like any celebratory life event or milestone, this is the perfect time to plan a photoshoot to capture the excitement and love between you and your partner. While it is important to organize details like the photographer, location(s), and outfits, remember that this process should be fun! Utilize this time to get comfortable planning and practicing how to pose for the wedding day. If you are stuck on what to wear or how to work with the camera, we got you with these 5 tips.

WHEN:

When to take your engagement photos depends on you. If you plan on using these photos for your save-the-date, we suggest planning to meet with your photographer 8+ months in advance of the wedding day. Ideally, this would give you enough time to ensure your photos are edited, printed, and mailed out at just the right moment. Otherwise, the most popular time frames to take the engagement photo will be right after the engagement date or 4-6 months before the wedding date.

WHERE:

To begin planning where you will take your photos, think about these questions: What are your favorite colors? Do you like nature? Or, are you a fan of city life in all its industrial glory? Is there a place that is special to both of you? Your first date location? Your favorite place to spend time together? Maybe, the spot is your towns local coffee shop or your favorite record store? What theme or atmosphere do you want to go for? Beachy? Vintage? Vibrant? If you can’t decide on one place, there is always the option to shoot in multiple locations.

WHAT TO WEAR:

Our favorite part of an engagement photo is… the outfits, of course! This is our most beloved tip we must share with you. Showcasing your future last name or new status is easy when your clothes and accessories do the talking. WeddingFavorites has plenty of options for jackets, hats, purses, and accessories to glam up any outfit you choose. We offer lots of neutral pieces that will add a personal touch without taking away from the stars of the pictures… the newly engaged couple!

Here are some of our favorite customer engagement photos to gain some inspiration from:

1. Minimalistic

To achieve a minimal & natural background, a desert scape is a great option that creates a shining spotlight on the couple. The stunning future bride is wearing our Personalized Denim Jacket, color matching the future groom. Our denim jacket can be worn with almost any outfit, in this case, it elevates a gorgeous white dress to a chic fashion statement. With minimalism, sometimes less is more. The more relaxed you are, the better your photos will be.

2. Vintage

We love high-quality vintage photos! This couple utilized a vintage photo filter in the editing process that was able to tie together multiple elements like their car, flower bouquet, Mrs Jean Jacket, and wrapped up into one beautiful engagement photo. This bride was able to stay classy and relaxed when she let her fashion make the announcement. If you don’t know what to do with your hands, think about holding and wearing our Mrs. Fedora Hat. The placement of her hands on the Fedora naturally guides the eye to the declaration, “Mrs.”, a picture with no caption needed. Taking pictures looking out into the distance away from the camera is a confident and stylish pose we recommend pairing with vintage-style shoots. With super cohesive and on-theme items, the pictures will turn out gorgeous, just like these retro ones.

3. Winter

Do you and your significant other enjoy winter, snow, or nature? If so, a snowy photoshoot is a great idea! This couple achieved a clear, contemporary engagement photoshoot by picking a wintery nature scene. Our Sparkly Mrs. Beanie will keep you warm & cozy while showcasing your future title the whole time! Just like this couple, consider switching up poses like warm hugs, gentle nuzzling, or super fun piggyback rides that highlight the natural, loving energy you both share. Our beanies come in several colors, so choose whatever colors you want that will amplify your photos.

4. Classic

With a pop of color from the teal car, a trendy jacket to display the future-shared-last-name, and a charming pose, this couple pops in these beautifully edited photos. The classic style leans on sepia and browns, which pair incredibly well with our White Sparkly Fringe Jacket. Without words, this jacket clearly communicates this new level of your relationship. Everyone will know that you are engaged and will be excited to see your new last name! The calm and effortless ambiance of these photos makes for great inspo!

5. Beachy

If you live near the beach, you must consider the ocean as an option. Not only will there be impressive scenery, but you can achieve incredible energy in your photos based on the time of day. Early sunrise or mid-sunset are tricky times to achieve but offer a high reward. Who doesn’t want the dramatic colors of a sunset in the background? Girl, that makes for one powerful engagement photo! This bride-to-be opted to engage with our Mrs Fedora Hat in her photos. This hat doubles as a pretty accessory, and a fun prop for your poses. We LOVE their “kissing” pose behind the fedora! It’s a super cute and expressive idea for a couple who might be camera-shy.

Boho Bridal Shower Idea

We love all things boho-inspired & our bride Adriana did not disappoint with her bridal shower decor! We were so honored that she incorporated our pieces on her special day, especially since she’s been with us since her bridesmaid proposals. Now, we’re sharing a closer look of her backyard bridal shower to give you some decoration inspo!

Theme & Decor

A rustic wooden backdrop that included an “Almost Mrs.” sign, created by @_mikbydesign, was the first thing guests saw when entering. It made the perfect photo-op for guests to take pictures with the bride-to-be. In addition, the bridal shower incorporated warm neutral tones, unique textures, and mixed florals paired with cushions and balloons to tie the theme together. Throughout the event, subtle signage adorned the entrance, gift table, and mimosa bar.

Seating & Florals

Guests were able to enjoy each other’s company while being seated around a long white table decorated with rustic decor. Starting off, the decorative plates and beautiful floral arrangements by @prettylilthingslb, made the perfect table setting for the special occasion. A mixture of fresh and dried flower arrangements, which sat along the table, further enhanced the boho decorations. Ultimately, our favorite touch was the large wicker chair at the head of the table for the bride-to-be. It was a gorgeous addition to the shower, and very on-trend for the theme.

Drinks & Food

Bridal showers aren’t complete without the sweet treats! Adriana had such a yummy dessert table that had a little something for everyone. From donuts to mini-tiramisus, @riassweetsandcatering stole the show with their intricate desserts. They even made a personalized charcuterie board that spelled out “Future Mrs Alvarez” in cheese! All the desserts were displayed on various wooden boards surrounded by eucalyptus stems which complimented the boho theme. Together with the hors-d’oeuvres was a Bubbly Bar station where guests could create their own mimosas with a mixture of fruits & juices.

Bride-To-Be OOTD

You can’t forget about the bride! Adriana was wearing a white two-piece outfit with matching heels for a stylish bride-to-be look! She accessorized her look with our Bride Headband and Personalized Veil. In addition, she threw on our Personalized Fringe Jacket with her new last name. She slayed the look, to say the least. 😍

If you decide to incorporate our pieces in your bridal shower, make sure to tag us on Instagram! We love seeing our products in action. Again, congrats to the lovely couple Mr. & Mrs. Alvarez and thank you to Adriana & her photographer @lizztinphoto for letting us feature her bridal shower.
